Sweaty Saturday

Welcome to Sweaty Saturday!

Well this week I have been forcing myself to get up when my alarm goes off at 5.30am to go for my 1 mile lap around the housing estate. I average about 12 minutes. First thing in the morning I am not feeling very energetic and especially with the temperature being low I am not really in the best mood to make myself run fast!

So for this week I only clocked 4 miles as the weather on Thursday and Friday was too severe for running! I did a mile today after I visited the fruit market. I will be adding my visit to YouTube shortly. Check it out.

I also did some butt toning exercises whilst watching Durianrider, but I may have been getting a little excited whilst squeezing my buttocks in a thrusting motion...hahahaha

Anyway! What have you been doing today to get sweaty??

I am off to a raw vegan Christmas potluck. I have prepared a superb salad selection, I cannot wait to eat.

Fun Friday

Welcome to another Fun Friday...it's FINALLY here!!!!!

I am so glad it is Friday because this week has been the longest (in a bad way) that I have experienced in a long time. I really need some motivation to keep me going for the next two weeks so I am posting some videos that make me forget to troubles and get me in a good mood!

A classic party anthem that makes me want to shake my booty and forget about everything!

OK, so I only discovered this tonight but oh my, it is so funny you HAVE to watch it!!

And this one is just so ridiculous that it is AWESOME!

I hope you all have a fantabulous weekend and these videos provide you with some fun this Friday!

Think Thursday

Think Thursday is upon us.

Tonight I think about how we see other people's problems and try to solve them, but when it comes to our own we often run away from them...

I find that I want to help people because I am a problem solver and I am also lazy so I tend to find the quickest solution. However, my own problems are not as quick or easy to solve. I take more time, think too much and end up feeling worse because I usually end up causing more problems to solve, which is why I often try to ignore my problems unless it is seriously affecting my life!

The logical solution is to either fix a problem when it arises, or if it's a long term problem use trial and error to solve it, after all if it's been there for a long time it will not hurt to try a few things!

Women over think, men under think! Serious decisions require serious thought. I admit I spend too much time thinking about things, but I believe certain men do not spend enough time thinking...

What are your thoughts? Let me know.

Wishful Wednesday

Welcome to Wishful Wednesday!

My wish today is for something I want right now, I will not get it but I am fine with that (as I am sure someone reading this will make it happen for me one day!!)

I wish for...

A cosy open log fire...
...and a loving warm embrace
If my wish could come true right now I would be so happy and feel so comforted.

What are you wishing for?

Tasty Tuesday

Hello and welcome to another Tasty Tuesday.

I have a "blonde" confession to make. I thought I had grown rosemary in my garden, but upon buying prepacked herbs at the supermarket I have now discovered I grew thyme! So along with flat leaf parsley I thought was coriander I have decided that I am in fact a total gardening noob. Any recipe I said I used rosemary, well I actually used thyme ;) I am going to update my posts!

So, I did another 30 days raw (well except for nuts) and I didn't feel as good as the first time. I do not know whether it is down to weather, daylight (lack of), general motivation, or the quantities/quality of my food etc but I still aim to be raw. However, I did prepare some baked, boiled and steamed vegetables and there are no excuses for you not to try this, you'll be totally satisfied. No need for animal products, just a whole load of root veg!

Here is what I had

White potato and celeriac mash with nutritional yeast (thanks to Peter who suggested it)
Baked sweet potatoes (still in the oven at this point of the picture)
Boiled red potatoes
Asparagus
Sprouts (oh my goodness I had to have them, they're my favourite!)
Carrots
Parsnips
Mushrooms (fried in water)

It was so filling and it just feels clean even though it was cooked, it still has nothing on raw, but this is a better back up and full of nutrition.

I hope you all "go root yourself" and stay away from junk.

Make it Monday

Hello Make it Monday fans!

So, what have I made this week? Well, not a lot. It really is just food that I make, but I am hoping to get some crafting back in at some point and as it is December it means we are into the Christmas month, so what better way to start the first Monday off than to share some Christmas crafts!!

Check out this cute beaded tree decoration. Now, the lazy people can purchase a kit if they wish (link in the caption), but to be honest it looks so easy to get the materials yourself and follow the picture...

Purchase here
The website says crafts for kids, but come on adults will love making these too, just look at their cute little faces and the bright colours!!
Find a description of how to make here

For a more complicated (looking at least) project, check out the link below for some gorgeous craft ideas

Find this beauty and others here
And finally, no house would be complete without...

A gingerbread man!!!! Find the free pattern here
I hope you all get crafty this Christmas and I would love to see your creations!

Soulful Sunday

Welcome to Soulful Sunday.

This is a new concept. Instead of exposing my bare naked body, I will instead expose my soul.

Today I want to talk about the one thing in my life that I have never really had. A best friend.

For those of you who know me, you may know that I have many different sides. I can be funny, sarcastic, emotional, caring, angry, stubborn, etc. Most people see the happy Jen, the funny Jen and (hopefully) the caring Jen. Not very many people see the sad, depressed and extremely emotional Jen.

I am not afraid to be vulnerable around people. I am, however, afraid to tell people what is actually wrong.

I want a best friend. I envy people who have a best friend. It really upsets me that I do not have a best friend!!

I often wonder why I cannot keep a long lasting friendship (never-mind a long lasting relationship!!). Is there something wrong with me? Am I just too independent? Is it wrong for me to want to have someone who is guaranteed to be there for me no matter what time of day, or no matter what the situation? It makes me sad to think that in my darkest hours of need, the people who I consider friends do not actually come through for me as I would expect a best friend to.

I see people who are the best of friends, do everything together, have an amazing connection and would do anything for each other. I know these friendships are very rare, but why?

I hope that one day, I will meet someone who will understand me without having to be told. To want to be there for me no matter what and knows that I will be there for them too.

If you have a best friend leave a comment and tell me about your friendship/connection. If you are like me and have never had a best friend let me know if this affects you in any way.

Much love
